Little Reviews: The Island at the End of Everything

As headline sponsors of the Children's Book Award, and as a children's publisher, we wanted to hear about the Top 10 books straight from the children who would read them. We opened up our own review section so our employees’ families could review a book of their choice from the Top 10.

Character FocusWho are they?Ami - Main character. Meri, Kidlat, Nanay, Bondoc, Mr Zomora, Sister Teresa, Sister Margaritte. Who did you like best and why?I liked Ami best because she was determined to go back to her Nanay, and she survived the snake bite. PlotWhat happens? The children are taken away from their parents, who are ill. Ami, Mari and Kidlat made it back to their home. Ami unfortunately got bitten by a snake. So Mr Zomora, their carer, took Mari and Kidlat to a different location, because Ami was too unstable from the snake bite. But she still got to see her Nanay. Your OpinionWhat was your favourite part and why?My favourite part was when Ami started comforting Kidlat; also when Ami met Mari and started to talk. If you had to recommend this book to a friend, what would you say? That it's really interesting and fun to read. |
