King’s Lynn Stars Mascot Competition Runners-Up Receive Prizes
We’ve had a busy week this week getting out and about! We were so pleased to be able to sponsor the King’s Lynn Stars’ competition to design a new mascot – and there were loads of absolutely great submissions. The competition was open to the public and children were invited to send in their designs for a new mascot for the King’s Lynn Stars speedway team. Up for grabs was the best prize we could imagine: loads of lovely books for the winning child’s school, plus the chance to see the winning design come to life as the new mascot for the King’s Lynn Stars. There were so many brilliant entries, and it was so hard to choose, but this week our very own Harriet was lucky enough to get out of the office and meet the runners-up.
First up was Rosie, who goes to Terrington St John Primary School.
Rosie’s lovely entry won her a special visit from Harriet, alongside Robin Brundle, team promoter for the King’s Lynn Stars. We love Skid-Star Sydney – especially his bucket full of sweets! Rosie was presented with £250-worth of BookLife books, including our new series Why Do I…? in a special celebration assembly. Well done, Rosie! We really hope you all enjoy your lovely new books. Rosie said she had a great time at the speedway and would love to go again! Here’s Rosie’s winning design – we’re sure you’ll agree this prize was well-deserved!
Next, Robin and Harriet were off to Dersingham Primary School to meet our next runner-up, Hadleigh.
They attended a special assembly here too, to present the second runner-up prize to Hadleigh. Her brilliant design won £250-worth of books for her school, including new comic-book series A Kid’s Guide to Feelings. We love Hadleigh’s design – Lynda Leopard is so colourful and we love her pink bow! Well done to Hadleigh; a super prize for a super entry – take a look below:
Harriet said “it was a pleasure to present the books to Hadleigh and Rosie, and everyone at BookLife really hopes the children enjoy reading them!” Check out our next blog post to find out all about the overall winner and their star prize of £500-worth of gorgeous BookLife books! Check us out on twitter and Facebook to stay notified of new blog posts, offers and prizes! Well done to both Rosie and Hadleigh – we bet your schools are very proud of you – and so are we!
